Kentucky won the National Championship in 2012 and made it to the Championship game in 2014. Kentucky is the clear favorite to win the National Championship this year.
No. 2 Virginia 25-1. Virginia's only loss is against Duke at home. The ACC is considered the strongest conference this season with five teams ranked in the Top 25.
No. 3 Gonzaga 28-1. Gonzaga's only loss was a thrilling OT loss at Arizona. The Zags have nonconference wins against UCLA, SMU, Georgia, St. Johns, Washington State and Memphis. The Bulldogs took a huge step in securing a No. 1 seed in its exciting come from 17 behind win at rival St. Mary's on Saturday. Of the 7 elite teams, Gonzaga is considered to be in the weakest conference, the WCC. Although the SEC does not have a strong basketball conference this season and the Pac12 is having a down year.
